SSM Soccer General Manager
Marc Sutton brings over twenty-one years of coaching experience at the club level to Shattuck-St. Mary’s. A former Director of Coaching and club trainer, Marc’s teams have won Minnesota state championships in three of the last five years and were ranked as high as 13th in the country and 2nd in the region. A two-time nominee for the Minnesota coach of the year, over ninety percent of Marc’s players have gone on to play soccer at the intercollegiate level.
Four players from Marc’s teams have been a part of the SSM soccer academy. Three of them were members of the inaugural class in 2005 and were part of the team that reached the US Youth Soccer National Championship final in 2008. One of those players was Marc’s son, Christopher, who went on to play soccer at the University of Notre Dame.
Prior to joining the staff at SSM, Marc spent the last twenty-nine years working in engineering and sales. In addition to his assistant coaching duties, he serves as the Academy General Manager and is responsible for all aspects of academy operations and administration. Marc also holds a US Soccer Federation coaching license.
