Ryan played and graduated from St. John’s University in Queens, NY.  After graduation he served as an assistant coach at Stevens Institute of Technology (NJ), Williams College (MA), and Hobart College (NY).  In 2007, he was named Assistant Coach and Director of Player Development for Real Salt Lake (MLS) where he trained the goalkeepers and oversaw the U16 and U18 academy teams.  In 2008, he spent 4 months studying the Tahuichi Academia in Bolivia, which is recognized as a top South American academy.  After his stint in South America, he became the Director of Coaching Education for Super Soccer Stars in New York City, where he oversaw the teaching of 150 professional coaches.

Ryan received his Master’s Degree in Sports Leadership from Duquesne University.  His coaching licenses include the NSCAA Premier and National Goalkeeper Diplomas.  Ryan credits his grandmother as inspiration for his career in coaching.
